A VIRTUAL TOUR
We invite you to have a look at our building,
both here on the internet
and in reality in Rubery
|
APPROACHING THE BUILDING |
|
Looking from Whetty Lane you can see the three parts of the building. On the right is the 1928 church, on the left is the 1961 hall and linking the two is the 2005 concourse. |
ENTERING THE BUILDING |
|
Up the steps or the ramp and through the doors into the bright, airy and welcoming concourse.
From here there is step free access to all parts of the building except the stage in the main hall, the gallery and the rooms behind the pulpit |
|
The office is on your
left followed by the ladies toilets, cleaners cupboard, accessible toilet and
gents toilet. To your right is the church, straight ahead the kitchen. |
|
The kitchen is equipped to the latest standards with plenty of space for preparing and serving food and drinks as well as for washing up and clearing away. |
INTO THE HALLS & MEETING ROOMS |
|
Beyond the new concourse is the hall complex comprising:
a main hall which is used by the Brownies & Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, Beacon Line Dancers, Rubery Craft Club, Slimming World, Beacon Babes Toddler Group and Rubery Drama Group. The hall is fitted with a sound and loop system; |
|
A Junior Hall which is used by children's groups, Rubery Women's Institute and the Water Colours Beginners and Improvers Group. This hall is fitted with a loop system; |
|
Two meeting rooms which are available for small group meetings
and two storage rooms |
INTO THE CHURCH |
|
The church is a classic 1920's style Congregational church with central pulpit, organ behind the pulpit, choir stalls either side of a raised dais on which there is a communion table and lectern. There is pew seating for around 180 people with a further 40 or so in the gallery. The church is fitted with a sound and loop system. |
BEYOND THE CHURCH |
Accessed by doors either side of the pulpit are the minister's vestry, a small lounge style meeting room and a kitchenette. |
INTO THE GARDEN |
|
The rear of the site is paved and grassed creating a safe place for children and young people to play.
A bench has been donated in memory of a former elder and provides a lovely place to sit and and enjoy the peace |
